EMPRESS KI HEIRS

EPISODE 8

Oh Young calls Ta Hwan to ask what kind of present he likes. At the time, Ta Hwan is only inches close to Seung Nyang. Calls from Oh Young stop them from kiss.

“Ta Hwan ssi, what do you like? I’m in a store with my Oppa. Do you like coats or sweaters?” Oh Young asks.

“Ah, yes. Yes. Whatever you like, I’ll like it too. I’m busy right now,” Ta Hwan answers then dismisses the call.

He throws off the phone to the bed and tries to sleep. Seung Nyang is confused but she doesn’t want to ask Ta Hwan. She tries to sleep too, but can’t. She’s too nervous sleeping in the same bed with Ta Hwan.

It’s morning and Ta Hwan gives Seung Nyang his seductive eyes. He asks if she can sleep well. She stutters and says yes. But Ta Hwan looks at her closely and says she doesn’t look too well.

“Should we sleep a bit more?” Ta Hwan asks.

“But Director, you’ll be late for meeting,” she warns him

Kim Joo Won looks at Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang while entering his hotel lobby. They both seem happy and chit chat about works. Joo Won doesn’t look pleased at them. While Seung Nyang is actually awkward to stay close with Ta Hwan. Ta Hwan tells her not to worry, she’ll learn fast once she understands the business.

While Seung Nyang’s brother, Nam Hoon goes to school with Young Do. As they come to the school, Young Do sees his brother is in a car with Oh Young. But the school is only half-day today because their teachers have an important meeting for final exam preparation. Knowing his brother and stepsister are gone, Young Do takes Nam Hoon his house, he wants play with him. Nam Hoon is perplexed and asks why does he avoid his brother and sister and only come home when they’re not around.

“If you know them, you’ll feel about to throw up. The way I look at them they will date each other soon, whether they’re stepsiblings or not,” Young Do blabbers while looking at his phone.

“That doesn’t make sense! You say your stepsister has fiancee right?” Nam Hoon asks

“Fiancee or not, it’s just for business, M&A,” Young Do replies.

Ta Hwan gives impressive presentation on shopping mall project plan in Jeju Island, the one that he asks Oh Soo to design. He believes as Jeju is number 1 tourists destination, people will also need shopping destination. Seung Nyang finally sees capable and confident Ta Hwan. The business meeting is a success and everyone congratulates Ta Hwan on such big project.

Oh Soo calls Ta Hwan telling that he’s already in Jeju with Oh Young. Ta Hwan tells him to wait for him at a restaurant. He will come and they can enjoy eating lunch together. Ta Hwan asks Seung Nyang if she wants to join him to eat lunch with the man who design the shopping mall. Seung Nyang agrees and they both goes to a restaurant.

Oh Soo and Oh Young chit chat as usual as they wait for Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang. Ta Hwan comes first, he shakes hand with Oh Soo before introduce him to Seung Nyang. Seung Nyang is surprised when she sees Oh Soo. Same with him, he’s shocked why she is here with Ta Hwan.

“That’s... That...” she can’t finish her sentence.

“I’m sorry, but looks like I need to talk to Seung Nyang. Don’t worry, I already know her,” Oh Soo tells Ta Hwan.

He grabs Seung Nyang’s hand, takes Seung Nyang outside and asks for her explanation. But Seung Nyang can’t say anything. She only looks down.

At the table, there’s long silence between Oh Young and Ta Hwan before Oh Young breaks and gives him his presents, outfits from top to toe. She asks him if he wants to try it first. Ta Hwan then changes and comes from toilet and looks all handsome, makes Oh Young swoon. She also asks if they can eat dinner tonight because there’s something she wants to ask, he agrees and says he also wants to say something. 

“Look here! Didn’t I tell you, we should never ever meet each other again?” Oh Soo looks at her angrily.

“But I don’t know, really don’t know that you know Ta Hwan too. Is it my fault to know Ta Hwan?”

Flashback to their happy moments. They were once lovers and visited Bali on vacation. 

But things go wrong and their breakup still leaves scars to them. They agreed to never seek each other again, but now they meet again. Tears streaming down Seung Nyang’s cheek, but she cries silently while Oh Soo sighs at their fate. 

When they come back to their table at the restaurant, Ta Hwan can smell something is not good between them. But he doesn’t say anything and continue to eat. He instead offers to pay for the lunch today. 

Dinner time. Oh Young and Ta Hwan meets at a restaurant. She asks what is his relationship with Seung Nyang.

“Do you know I like her?” Ta Hwan responds.

Oh Young almost chokes listening to Ta Hwan’s answer. Moreover Ta Hwan also wants them to breakup and just forget their marriage. Ta Hwan apologizes to her and asks for her understanding.

“Why, why is it so easy for men to say goodbye?” Oh Young almost cries, stands up then leaves Ta Hwan who still eats his lettuce.

Tal Tal is in the court, just finishes his long case about multinational company. He wins the case and the client is satisfied. Feeling happy, he calls Seung Nyang. Seung Nyang congratulates him and says he deserve the lawyer job now. Seung Nyang says tomorrow she will come back to Seoul so he doesn’t need to miss her badly. They both laugh and discuss about their recent activities.

The four people in Jeju decide to leave together tomorrow. Oh Soo calls Young Do to pick them up at airport but Young Do reluctanly goes. While Ta Hwan asks his driver if he’s available today and pick him and Seung Nyang.

Young Do comes to the airport and he’s holding up a seemingly teasing paper “Welcome, my stepsister!” Oh Soo comes to hit him in his head, what’s with his lame joke. But Oh Young only brushes it off and she seems doesn’t mind at all. The three leave first before Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang.

Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang wait for quite long time, but his driver doesn’t come soon. Ta Hwan calls Driver Cha continously but no answer. Ta Hwan then tells Seung Nyang to wait for him, he will go outside the airport to look if his driver already comes or not.

A few minutes pass and finally Driver Cha comes. Ta Hwan asks him to stay there, while he’s back to the airport to pick up Seung Nyang. They then goes to carpark while Driver Cha is waiting. Seeing two people from afar walking to his direction, Driver Cha comes out of the car, only to be surprised. He runs away from them instead and tries to hide from them. Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang is confused by his strange behaviour. But Seung Nyang looks at familiar figure, starts calling him.

“Appa! Why are you here?” Seung Nyang calls Sam Gwan who turns out to be her father.
