Empress Ki 2: Episode 63

TilTil whispers something to Hwanghu Mama. Mamanim starts crying. TilTil knows it all now. TilTil's mother is the closest person and friend to Mamanim, Hong Dan.

Flashback to 20 years ago.

Mamanim meets TalTal on her way to her chamber. Taltal is flustered a bit and flashes a smile. Mamanim asks him why. TalTal is shy to tell her about Hongdan. Before TalTal went to fight the rebellions he requested Mamanim to take care of Hongdan.

Back to present, Mamanim is still crying. Now when TilTil knows her real parents there's no way to accept her as Ayu's wife. Paeha won't allow her because she's not from royal family. Meanwhile Paeha meets Ayu. He asks him who he really wants. Ayu still firmly chooses TilTil. 

Paeha sighs at his son's choice. Nothing would make Ayu changes his mind. He's just as stubborn as his father and mother. Mamanim comes to Paeha but can't look at Ayu. She feels bad to Ayu and TilTil. Mamanim asks Ayu to go outside.

Mamanim tells Paeha carefully but he doesn't want to hear the reason.

SN: “Eventhough TalTal was our prime minister and Hongdan was our loyal servant, you couldn't accept their daughter?”

TH: “There are many beautiful princesses. From Goryeo, Shilla, Baekje, Japan, India why our Ayu has to marry with average woman like TilTil?”

SN: “But TilTil is as smart and capable as other princesses."

TH: "But still, it will be better to marry a princess."

SN: "Do you also forget my origin as lowborn?”

TH: “Aaa. SeungNyang-ah... It's not like that..”

SN: “Forget it. Just don't come near me in a week! I'm sick of your narrow-minded brain!”

TH: “Aaaah..SeungNyang-aaah... Don't go!”

Meanwhile Hwon hasn't decided yet to stay in the palace or go home to Goryeo. But he's startled to see Mamanim's face unhappy. He wants to ask Mamanim what happened but he's too nervous. 

Behind Mamanim, Paeha calls her and almost cry but Mamanim ignores both Paeha and Hwon. Ayu doesn't get a clue about this and start looking for TilTil. He meets TilTil in the library, silently reading records about her parents. Now Ayu know TilTil's parents.

Paeha asks Hwanghu Mama why she's so mad and even ignores him. Paeha is sorry for being narrow-minded but he still thinks Ayu would be best with Seondeok. Not that he hates TilTil or anything. Mamanim ignores Paeha's question for now. Paeha can't even understand Mamanim's now. He wants to meet Ayu and TilTil now.

Speaking of, Seondeok who goes back to Shilla, falls sick after long trip from Yuan. She feels sad and mad at the same time. She has mixed emotions towards Ayu now. Her lover, Bidam take care of her and says she should never return to Yuan.

Paeha meets Ayu and TilTil in the throne hall. He asks carefully to both of them. What they really want? To get married as soon as possible? Both look flustered but can't deny the happiness. Then Ayu asks Paeha, what he really wants to?

Paeha: “I want happiness for both of you. I also don't want to argue with Hwanghu Mama anymore. And if ever you two get married, you must prove first if you really deserve each other.”

Ayu: “How we prove it to you?”

Paeha: “TilTil should start princess' training and Ayu should really does well as crown prince. I'll give some of my duties to Ayu.”

Ayu: “We hear and obey, Paeha. Thank you for your grace.”

Mamanim looks from afar. She smiles happily. Mamanim is happy with Paeha's decision but Paeha is worried if the ministers and governors won't accept Tiltil as well. Mamanim consoles him that everything will be alright. They won't oppose him because everyone support Paeha now.

Paeha finally announce about his plan to marry Ayu and TilTil. Ayu, TilTil and Mamanim is relieved. Hwon is heartbreaking. Now everyone support him but Paeha says there's at least six months before the wedding. if Ayu and TilTil still love each other and prove themselves then they will marry. 

Hwon goes outside the palace to calm himself. Too many bad news for him. TilTil also goes outside, there she meets Hwon. Hwon smiles and congratulates TilTil and Ayu but deep inside his heart is shattered. Now he will go home. Nothing to do in Yuan. He also wants to search Jeongjo's body.

Paeha goes to sleep early tonight. He's having headache because so many problems lately. He just sleeps without taking his robe off. Suddenly in midnight, someone open the door and sneak in. Paeha wakes up and sees Mamanim only in white undergarment.
