EMPRESS KI HEIRS

EPISODE 3

Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang stare at each other for a while. They thought they have met each other somewhere but can’t remember when and where. Seung Nyang stands up first and said, “Well, thank you for saving me from the fall. I have to leave now”. “Wait, we don’t know each other yet. Why we don’t introduce ourselves? My name’s is Kim Ta Hwan.”

While at famous Zeus Bar Oh Soo throws a party for him and his friends. Oh Soo seems so happy tonight and doesn’t know when his brother, Young Do arrives. Young Do waves at his hyung but Oh Soo only busy with his friends. Young Do is quite disappointed. He sneaks outside and goes to his friend’s house, Nam Hoon to sleep tonight.

Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang introduce themselves to each other and then start chatting. From the chat, Ta Hwan knows that they’re from the same university, Dankook University just that they have different majors and Seung Nyang is 5 years older than him. He thinks she’s same age with Oh Soo and Joong Won. But then it’s already 10 pm at night and the rain starts to fall. Seung Nyang once again wants to leave first, but Ta Hwan holds her hand. He asks Seung Nyang if it’s okay to go home now that it seems  public transports are rare and it’s thunderous stormy rain outside. 

“It’s okay I can just call a taxi.” Seung Nyang said.

“Hmm, what if I drive you home?”

“But my home is very far from here...”

“Let’s drive to my home then. Then I’ll take you to your home tomorrow morning.” Ta Hwan said.

Seung Nyang is uneasy but she doesn’t want to disappoint Ta Hwan. She nods to say yes, but prefer to take at the backseat than beside Ta Hwan. Ta Hwan teases her that he seems like her driver.

Oh Young calls Ta Hwan that night but he just ignores it. Oh Young is disappointed with Ta Hwan’s behaviour. She starts talking to her stepbrother about Ta Hwan. Oh Soo hears Oh Young attentively and promises he will talks to Ta Hwan directly tomorrow.  

Nam Hoon is worried why his sister not goes home yet and tries to call her. But Seung Nyang’s phone is off because the battery is empty. She charges the phone at Ta Hwan’s and then take a bath.

While she’s on Ta Hwan’s house she wonders why he lives alone. Ta Hwan brings her some clothes to change while she looks at his family picture. Ta Hwan seems uneasy but he tells her anyway. He’s the mistress’ son of his father, Yuan Group Chairman. His stepbrother gets everything because he’s smarter, cunning and charming and rumored to have connection with ghosts while he can only get the job because of his own capabilities. While his mother lives on her own now because she’s ashamed of their condition and doesn’t want any outsiders know about their family’s secret. Seung Nyang pats him in the back. At least, he’s better than her who doesn’t have mother anymore. 

Speaking of Joong Won, he doesn’t go home after meeting Ta Hwan at the restaurant. He gets involved with crazy psychiatrist who wants to study about paranormal activity and ghost behaviour around the office building. Although Joong Won says “Get lost!” countless times on her, she doesn’t want to leave and prefer to stay in the building until the morning. Joong Won shakes his head but he accompany her in the building just in case she steals something from the office.

When Seung Nyang she wakes up she’s surprised because there’s 10 messages and missed calls from her little brother. Seung Nyang searches for Ta Hwan. He’s already in the kitchen, preparing for breakfast. He smiles and says she’s beautiful even in the morning, makes Seung Nyang blushing. They eat silently but Ta Hwan looks at her with fascination while Seung Nyang unconsciously stroking her hair with her fingers. Ta Hwan then drives her home. It’s almost 40 minutes from his home but he’s so happy to do that. 

While on Seung Nyang’s house, two boys, Nam Hoon and Young Do almost late to school because they sleep late last night. They scramble to go to school and manage to get into the class just right when the bell rings. Seung Nyang comes to her house in shock because the two boys turn her house into a mess. There’s ramyun packs, Hwatu cards to play Go Stop, lots of snacks and even cigarettes. Seung Nyang is angry because she never finds her brother smoking before. She wants to know who slept at her home last night. 

Oh Young calls Ta Hwan once again, he apologizes and makes excuse that he’s drunk last night so didn’t know she was calling. She wants to go on date at the amusement park this weekend. Ta Hwan only says yes and says he’s busy now. In fact, he’s busy to look at Seung Nyang’s keychain that left on his car. He imagines how he should give it back to her and starts smiling. He imagines she will come herself to his office and before she left she will seduce him to take her home once again. He’s giggling at his own imagination. 

Turns out it’s Seung Nyang’s motorbike’s key. She messages Ta Hwan to give it to her back as soon as possible but Ta Hwan is busy now. He promises he will give it back on weekend. Seung Nyang doesn’t buy his excuse and wants to see him now. Ta Hwan challenges her to come to his office but she won’t meet him because he’s busy meeting with managers and directors.

But Seung Nyang really comes to his office. She asks to an employee where’s Ta Hwan. And then she meets someone, not Ta Hwan, but Joong Won. Joong Won is surprised to meet her today. Not that she’s now Ta Hwan’s friend, but he actually knows her and had one-sided love with her during college days.

 

“Seung Nyang, what are you doing here?” asked Joong Won. “Wait, are you the woman who played piano yesterday?”

“Joong Wonnie? I almost can’t recognize you. Yes, I played piano at restaurant yesterday.”

“Me neither. You looks prettier than in college. Wait, let’s sit at my office!”

They chat like long-time friend before being interrupted by Ta Hwan.

“Hyung, what are you doing here?” Ta Hwan stares at them.
