Reserved Love: Episode 10 (Epilog)

There’s a short interlude between Mu Young and Young Won, as she still very much surprised by the sudden proposal. She hasn’t said anything yet, but she looks straight at Mu Young’s eyes, to look whether this man is all serious or not.

“If you were me, will you accept it and put the ring on the your finger?” Young Won asks.
“No,” Mu Young says, all serious.
“Why?” She’s slightly surprised.
“Because if I were you I would ask for a thousand kisses before I put the ring on mine,” he says cheekily.
“Aissh..”

She has enough of his cheesy lines and pushes him to the other hand of sofa, smiling shyly. Mu Young laughs sheepishly and hugs her tightly.

“I won’t let you go, before you say yes!” Mu Young exclaims.
“Arasso. Yes.”
“What?”
“Yes yes yes yes! Can’t you hear me?”
“Okay, okay. Fine,” Mu Young lets go his hug and now stands in front of her.

Mu Young starts his speech, he gets all serious and nervous now, eventhough he already experienced it once.

“Young Won-ssi, I’m not the perfect man to you. I come to you with scars and wounds and my past. Young Won-ah, even the most romantic love story will come to an end, do you still want to come to me?”
“Do you think I’ll accept you not knowing those?”

Mu Young beams in smile and now he kneels before her, opens the ring box and slowly puts the ring to her finger. He praises her fingers as pretty and it makes her blushing. He kisses her hand and her forehead before hugs her. A long hug for both of them, as if they want to prolong the happiness.

3 days later...

Mu Young is driving with Young Won to their hometown, Suwon. He wants to officially propose her and tells her parents about it. Young Won isn’t sure if it would be the best because she thinks it will be better if she tells the matter to her parents first. But Mu Young assures her, nothing wrong gonna happen.

As soon as Mu Young enters the house and sits in the living room, he feel a bit strange. He wonders too, does it mean he have two in-laws now? He smiles at such thought. Young Won’s mother comes to meet him. She’s awed because Mu Young is really handsome and young. She scolds Young Won not bring him sooner.

“Annyeonghaseyo. I’m.. Uhm. I’m Cha Mu Young. Young Won’s boyfriend,” he introduces himself
“I know. Of course you’re. Men like you of course easily have girlfriend or get married already.”
“Ah.. yes..” Mu Young answers, rather awkwardly.
Young Won whispers to her mom, “Mom, he’s already married.”
“Ah.. Yes.. Yes, that’s why I said that. You’re too handsome to remain single.” Mom tries to save her face.
“You’re too kind with your compliment. I think it’s Young Won that is too beautiful to remain single,” Mu Young tells them.

Young Won’s mom invites them over lunch. She prepares so many meals and side dishes that’s more than enough for the three of them. Mu Young praises her cooking as really delicious, compared to Young Won. Young Won frowns at him but her mother laughs.

“I know right? It’s just she always works hard and never even tried her hands to cook meals. I’m worried for her because she’s already in her thirties and sooner or later will cook for someone else,” Young Won’s mom answers.

After the meal, Mu Young wants to discuss the marriage with Young Won and her mother.

“So... I came here. I just proposed her the other day and... ehm.. we’re looking forward to your blessings.” Mu Young shyly tells her about the proposal.
“So you just proposed my daughter?”
“Yes.”
“And you come here to receive blessings?”
“Yes.”
“Of course we’ll give it. We’re not that picky regarding son in-law. As long as you two love each other, it’s enough for us. So when are you planning to get married?”
“Yes?” Now Mu Young is surprised, unprepared to the question.

He shyly answers to plan it slowly, he doesn’t want to rush things. Young Won also explains to her mother that marriage is not that easy, should prepare the money, mental and physical health. Mu Young tries to hide his smile, when in fact he’s just so happy right now.

6 months later...

It’s time to announce their wedding. They already visit a posh wedding boutique, rent wedding hall, catering, basically all they think needed for wedding. Not too glamorous, but not too shabby either. Young Won tries some wedding dresses in front of Mu Young. He can only go “Ah, wow, so pretty.” He can’t decide which one is better on her.

Mu Young hands over the wedding invitations to his employees and colleagues. Hyun Bin sees Mu Young hands out the invitation as his face turns to sour. It leads to gossip and rumors on their department.The employees on HR Department even go further and ask Project Manager Hyun directly.

“Project Manager, heard you were dumped by Young Won?” Sec.Jo asks.
“What are you talking about?” Hyun Bin answers incredulously
“Wedding between Director and Lee Young Won. Does it mean you’re dumped?”
“Woah, that must lead to some rumor right now. I have nothing to do with Young Won-ssi.”
“So you’re not dumped? You never be her boyfriend?”
“We’re just friends...” Hyun Bin scoffs at him.

Hyun Bin is slightly disappointed, but he knows clearly there’s no way to win her over. He goes to Mu Young’s desk and congratulates him. Mu Young is in good mood and wishes him to meet a good woman in the future. Hyun Bin smiles without saying anything, before leaves the room.

Now, Mu Young is alone in his office, he gets phone call from Chairman Seo and asks him to come over his office. Mu Young doesn’t waste his time and quickly goes to the top floor, where the Chairman’s office located.

Chairman Seo knows the wedding news and gives sincere congratulations to Mu Young.

“Congratulations, Mu Young-ah!! It doesn’t take too long to be young widow, eh?”
“Thanks, Chairman!” Mu Young shyly admits.
“It’s good then. Now I have another good news for you. Just think of it as my wedding gift.”
“What is that, Chairman?”
“What do you think? Anyway, you will see it next week.”
“Whatever it is, I’ll convey my thanks first!” Mu Young slightly bows to him.

Chairman Seo pats his back and lets him leave. He says it’s a surprise and Mu Young deserves it. Mu Young smiles and leaves his office with light heart.

The day comes and Mu Young gets nervous as hell. It’s not because he doesn’t know, but he now knows what the wedding gift actually is. A promotion to be the CEO of Daehan Oil. Mu Young almost can’t digest well this morning because he’s too nervous. At the office, a banner is lifted to congratulate him. He’s happy to be honest, but what’s actually on his mind now is how he will cope the press conference for the CEO appointment and if Na Young will come as one of the shareholders.

Turns out Seo Na Young really comes and sits next to Mu Young at the press room. Mu Young greets her but she only gives him grim smile. The MC introduces everyone and reads today’s event. He also allow journalists to ask.

“Mr.CEO, congratulate on your promotion! As we know you’re already divorced from Chairman’s daughter, so how is your relationship with her now?” a journalist asks.

“Well, I guess we remain on friendly terms. If not, she wouldn’t sit beside me right?” Mu Young answers with humor.

Na Young doesn’t seem interested on his answers. Mu Young glances at her and sees her stern face. He whispers to her to smile a bit, but she ignores him. Mu Young can’t blame her though, she must be very sensitive right now knowing her ex-husband just get promoted to CEO position and even get married in few days. Na Young congratulates him and shakes his hand. Mu Young holds her hand longer and apologizes to her once again.

“I’m sorry Na Young-ah.”
“You don’t need to,” Na Young replies.
“Even if you don’t want to, I’d say sorry over and over again,” he whispers.
“Don’t make me pitiful.”
“Ah, right, I should congratulate you too if you get married to my hyung,” Mu Young says cheekily to her.

Finally it’s wedding day. Mu Young and Young Won are very handsome and beautiful. Both are so happy on their wedding day. They don’t invite so many people, but of course their families and in-laws are included, Chairman Seo, Na Young and Mu Won come, so do Young Won’s family. Their colleagues and employees like the secretaries, managers, directors also come to the happy occasion.

By the time they reach their new apartment, Mu Young and Young Won are tired, but overwhelmingly happy. They kiss each other again and again, locking their lips and exploring each other’s mouth before doozing off that night.

Sunday morning and both of them still sleepy. Mu Young wakes up first and opens the curtain. A bright sunshine comes in to their room and lights it up. Mu Young still stands in the curtain when Young Won finally opens her eyes. She rubs her eyes to adapt with the light.

“Wake up?” Mu Young asks.
“Yes.. Ah, I feel a bit sore,” Young Won tells him, referring to their last night’s passionate romance.

Mu Young smirks and then comes to the bed again, trying to hug her. She lets him hug her, before he hugs even tighter, making her can’t breath properly. She tries to wrestle his arms and quickly jumps off the bed. She tells him that she’ll take a bath, but Mu Young has another idea.

“Let’s take a shower together!” Mu Young declares.
“What? Just play it by yourself, I really need to wash properly.”
“NO.... Ah, let’s we play just this once, huh? Anyway there’s no harm, we can shower faster rather than one by one.”
“Good idea, you sure have your mind in the gutter,” she sneers.
“Just this once though,” Mu Young begs.

Young Won sighs and grants his request. She takes her towel and clean shirt and pants. By the time Young Won enters the bathroom, Mu Young already undressed himself and only wears boxers. He pushes Young Won and locks the bathroom. He shushes her and turns on the hot water. Now, things start to warm and there’s steam on the glasses and mirror inside the bathroom.

Pretending not seeing her, Mu Young turns his back and takes off his boxers. He begins to wash himself under the shower. Even after seeing his naked body few times, Young Won still curious what it feels like under the hot water. She touches his shoulder and his back and suddenly she hugs him from behind. She can feel his washboard abs and now his skin is warmer with hot water pouring over it. Mu Young still busy to wash himself and even though his heartbeat is going at a faster pace, he somewhat tries to calm down. He doesn’t rush and he touches every inch of her skin, he likes touching her bare skin. Young Won also touches his skin, she washes and wipes his shoulders as if they’re really dirty. She plays with water and pours it into his skin. Before they stop, things getting too hot for themselves. The shower pours hot water but it feels the atmosphere is hotter than that. He then turns around and looks at her eyes, for quite some time. He slowly kisses her lips and slowly kisses the other part of hers. She could feel something hard pressing against her stomach. They’re soaked in wet and hot water as they make out.

1 hour later, they wrap their bodies with towels and dry their hair. It’s well past breakfast time.

That evening, they go out of their apartment and decide to eat blood sausages while enjoy strolling at a park nearby. They sit down on a bench at the park.

Mu Young is munching his blood snacks while watching people walk around from almost all age, from babies to oldies. He then shares his earphone to her, music blasts from the earphone but it’s only romantic love songs.

Young Won plays a song on his handphone, “Real Love Song” by K.Will. Mu Young doesn’t protest and starts humming the song. She has another idea to take selfie with him. Mu Young agrees and they both snap selfies from various angles. As they take selfie, they also ask a stranger to take their picture and shows off their their affection.

“Yeobo, if we have kids later on should we stroll around here?” Young Won asks.
“Definitely. How many kids do you want?”
“Hmm.. 2?”
“2? No... I want four!!” Mu Young says.
“Eii, can you?” Young Won teases him.

Mu Young pretends to be upset, but then he pulls her closer and puts his arm around her shoulder.

“Ah.. I think I know what’s the last love means now...” he tells her.
“What is it?” Young Won curiously asks.
“God gives us the first love, the second love and so on, but ultimately he reserve the best for the last.”
“So last love is the best love?”
“Maybe. We’re more prepared and more experienced with heartbreaks, unlike first love, and because it’s the last love, there shouldn’t be any other love comes after that right?”
“So who’s your last love?”
“Doesn’t it obvious, Young Won-ssi?” he smiles and hugs her tighter.
